4 IT trends IT professionals will see this year

The modern world is ever-evolving in regard to information technology and what it can offer.

With new trends come concerns about security and updated training for IT professionals, which is why resources such as SQL training are so important. IT workers should pay attention to trends in 2015 to find innovative ways of improving these tools to ensure they are secure for the public to use.

Here are four IT trends that will certainly affect IT in 2015:

  1. Internet of Things
With new trends comes concerns about security and updated training for IT professionals, which is why resources such as SQL training are so important.
With new trends comes concerns about security and updated training for IT professionals, which is why resources such as SQL training are so important.
The Internet of Things is the concept of involving the Internet with a variety of products beyond just phones and computers. This has been a huge cause for concern in the cybersecurity sector, as many believe the IoT is not as secure as it should be. Information Age mentioned that the IoT will evolve this year due to investors in the IT and telecom industry. When these investors increase their involvement, it’s predicted that data generation and application capabilities for mobile devices will be boosted as well.
  2. Data-centric decisions
Big data has already been trending within a variety of industries, but Federal News Radio reported that evolving technology and industry tools will make it common within both the government and business world. Information Age added that there is already an increasing demand for more complex data analysis and rich data. Making sense of digital information has become a priority for companies looking to understand their customers and improve their decision-making skills, and that concept will only become more prominent.
  3. The cloud
Information Age reported that last year, the cloud was extremely popular for businesses. Its use has been for improved IT operations and employee collaboration, among many other benefits. This year, there will be an even greater adoption of the cloud among companies as hybrid hosting options evolve. The public cloud is also expected to gain momentum, according to Federal News Radio. The government sector is expected to begin adopting the tool this year with better security and research going into the public cloud. The source added the Defense Information Systems Agency released new guidelines last month to specify what can be placed in the public cloud and what should be kept separated within networks.
  4. Privacy and security
With the various cyberattacks last year, security has become a top priority for many companies. The IT industry will be pressured to invent innovative ways to protect sensitive data, according to Federal News Radio. The healthcare sector especially will be a focus for IT workers, as compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA, may be changing with the evolving concerns within the cybersecurity sector.

IT professionals can prepare for these trends by training and taking Microsoft certification courses. Such acumen gives them the ability to be more prepared to find innovative ways to make these tools secure and efficient for businesses.

Additionally, this training can help them feel more confident in their strengths and capacities. Companies may research ways to offer Sharepoint classes or Microsoft training for its IT employees to improve their business processes.
