Enterprises leveraging a hybrid cloud deployment may benefit from enrolling their IT staff in Microsoft training courses.
Azure continues to grow more popular among consumers and businesses alike, garnering nearly 8,000 new users every week. Microsoft has launched a number of applications to the Platform-as-a-Service solution to help organizations better store, manage and learn from their data – essential tasks for any enterprise to partake in.
Seamless transition
Whether an organization prefers to run its essential applications on a private cloud and store non-critical information in the public cloud or the other way around, Microsoft just made these options a whole lot easier. According to Windows IT Pro contributor Rod Trent, Microsoft’s StorSimple 8000 Series Hybrid Storage Arrays, an application capable of providing:
- Data storage and protection
- Primary and archival information deposits
- Disaster recovery
Trent acknowledged a few key features those in Azure-focused Microsoft certification courses will learn to harness:
- Microsoft Azure StorSimple Virtual Appliance: Enables users to access on-premise company data through Azure, allowing them to develop, test and experiment with their in-house information.
- Microsoft Azure StorSimple Manager: Administrators can control all 800 series arrays and virtual appliances, allowing them to implement data security and retention protocols across an entire enterprise.
- Large and in charge: Azure StorSimple 8000 managers will benefit from bigger on-premise data storage capacity, more efficient processors, greater network bandwidth and optimal algorithms.
Success with big data
Cloud computing, whether executed through a private, hybrid or public environment, provides organizations with the flexibility and scalability required to host complex applications and large collections of digital information. Gaining intelligence from the stored data can prove challenging.
Microsoft acknowledged this difficulty by offering Azure Machine Learning, which not only allows enterprises to import data, but also gain real-time access to live, Web-based information as well. Computerworld contributor Rand Morimoto acknowledged how Azure ML takes this capability one step further by offering:
- Conventional statistical analysis
- Comparative analytics
- Forecasting and prediction
Another key benefit to leveraging Azure ML is how easy it is for people to share the intelligence created by the program with one another through Azure. Shared experiments and models can be accessed by anyone in the company, eliminating the need to constantly send documents through email.
Morimoto referenced his own experience with Azure ML, asserting it took him and his staff less than a day at the most to create, review and edit complex data models. Before this application, it took his team more about a week to do so.
